Ireland plot

released april 2005

Description: This is a pre-made landplot for use with the pga 2000 architect. The brutal, rugged look
of the terrain along with the picturesque shoreline would make a perfect setting for links golf. I tried
to incorporate as many distinctive and unique features to the land as I could to stimulate the creativity
of the designer. The left part of the plot (west part) along the shoreline features terrain that is a bit
more level but with many hollows, small bumps and swales that is so representative of seaside links golf.
The east part of the plot features more valleys and global elevation changes that we often see in real
life when we are moving away from the ocean back to open country.

- The plot have been left rugged intentionnally. I did use the smooth button but only a little....the result
is that the designer can see more clearly the undulations of the land and have a better vision to lay out
his course. The best natural greensites can more easily be found that way, and the designer can then proceed
with as much smoothing as he like once he have found the most interesting routing.

- The point count for the rough texture on the course is relatively high...this has been done to show
as much detail in the terrain work as possible to the designer. More detail is never a bad thing, and in
this case it can help the designer get a true feel for the land and offer more opportunities to create rich
and diverse visual sights.

Have fun!!
